My son wrote on the mesh part of my Nike tennis shoes. I cleaned them with a mild soap right away and the markings came out but the part of the shoes that got wet also turned yellow. How can I get them back to white?

I used to love Sketchers...I bought a new pair of New Balance and they're far better than the shoes I've been buying religiously for 8 years now.
