What kind of athletic shoes should I purchase?

I am looking for a new pair of athletic shoes. I do a lot of walking and biking. I run on occasion, but not regularly. I currently have a pair of cross trainers. I was wondering if there is a different kind of shoes I should use. I do not participate in school sports, so this is more for personal recreation and exercise.

How can I clean the mesh part of my Nike athletic shoes?

My son wrote on the mesh part of my Nike tennis shoes. I cleaned them with a mild soap right away and the markings came out but the part of the shoes that got wet also turned yellow. How can I get them back to white?

The shoes are part leather and part mesh…bleach won’t do on these and shoes polish will not work.

You can use ethanol wash your nike shoes!

What are some brands of Cute Athletic Shoes?

I am looking for some cute athletic shoes–they need to be comfy, but I’ll mostly be wearing them for walking around, so they don’t need to be gym shoes, per se. Any ideas of brands and where to buy them? I’d like something trendy and colorful. I usually like Pumas, but I don’t really like anything they have right now…

get skater shoes..skater shoes are built for comfort and walkng around and i know here in my city eerybody iswearing it.

Athletic shoes: What are "fashion athletic shoes" like Skechers? Can’t you still wear them to exercise?

I was at Kohl’s browsing around for cross-training shoes and noticed they have a pretty big section of what they call "fashion athletic shoes," mostly Skechers. They look like regular athletic shoes to me that you could wear to the gym and whatever, but they’re cheaper than the others that are labeled specifically for running/cross-training. So what’s the deal with these shoes? Are they really that different from the Nikes and New Balances?

I was doing three mile chip trail runs in some black slip-on sketchers for a few weeks because they were the lightest shoe I have ever come across. A few weeks later every morning, I began to get this tightening sensation on the bottom of my foot, almost like a cramping but not quite. I would stretch my foot via extending my toes and it went away a few days later.
Started to use my New Balance shoes again (have moderate mileage on them) and the pain has never returned. In fact just did a 15k in my NB’s and my feet never gave me any feedback! GREAT!
Whatever you do buy what feels comfortable and what will encourage you to use them. Those Sketchers I was telling you about are still excellent shoes for all other things but running (for me).

Sneakers…tennis shoes. Go fasters…whatever you wanna call em.

I used to love Sketchers…I bought a new pair of New Balance and they’re far better than the shoes I’ve been buying religiously for 8 years now.

I’m a Nike kinda guy, I love doing it!

How do I clean athletic shoes?

I have a pair of Nike athletic shoes that are not leather. I wore them on day when it was pretty nasty and rainy outside and they are pretty grungy looking now. Since I can’t just wipe them off with a wet cloth, how can I clean them? I don’t want to put them in my washing machine.

Take 1 once of laundry detergent and pour it in a bucket.

Mix in 3 cups of warm water.

With a whisk, whip it up and make a lot of suds.

Scoop the suds onto the shoes and brush it in with a soft brush.

Take a damp rag and wipe down your shoes.

Viola! there clean.

My mom’s looking for the brand of Russian athletic shoes that are like the new Sketcher ones that are kind of curved at the heel.(They’re supposed to improve your posture, and help you get fit)
The Skecher’s ones are called shape-ups

there isnt one Sketchers owns that form so just go to amazon or something like that.

I do not run but i am a stay at home mom and am on my feet all day. I have a high arch, and underpronate.

i used steel wool on the upper part of my reebok athletic shoes (to be specific) and i think i removed the leather-like (not sure of the exact term) white part of it..coz it turned to grayish..im talkin about the upper part of my shoe not the rubber at the bottom..could someone please tell what should i do?..thank you..

why would you use steel wool on your shoes?

ah, anyway, just buy a new pair of shoes or paint it.
