My teen has feet that are wide and flat, and most shoes hurt his feet.

i do and i am 44 and only just last feb. went and had orthotic shoe insoles made. they are life changing. they cost me about 550 dollars canadain . that sounds like a lot but kids now want stupid brand name shoes that cost over 100 .
the insoles can go in any shoes or boots and last a very long time. go get some made by a doctor.

The best bet is to get "flexes" or orthotic inserts for the shoes, and then getting deep shoes with good support such as New Balance. If your insurance doesn’t cover the cost of orthotics and podiatry appointments, you could purchase a good arch support insert from doctor scholls in your pharmacy. I would suggest if you can afford it to go to the podiatrist to get custom orthotic inserts. You don’t want your teen to develop ankle and knee arthritis later in life, so it is worth the expense. My kid also has flat feet.
