Shoes aren't neccessary for a baby learning to walk. It can actually hinder them and cause them to have problems with their feet if you happen to get shoes that aren't flexible enough. Let her enjoy being barefoot!
References :
Well, I know you said that you don't have her wear shoes in the house, but you shouldn't actually have her wear shoes at all. The shoes make it so that she can not feel the 'ground' under her feet, but also they restrict her foot movement, they're uncomfortable for her, and they can cause her to have flat feet. The shoes will minipulate the way her feet grow and her feet will form to those shoes. The best thing you can do is have her feel bare, or just with socks until she starts to walk (don't try to teach her to walk outside were she could get hurt), and after she begins to walk get first steps walking shoes.
I hope this is helpful, feel free to contact me.
References :
I have a 10 month old son. experience!

striderite is tried and true for years i have three children all teenagers now but that's all i used, however different times different opinions. whatever you decide be it striderite or consulting your doctor remember your child's feet is their foundation and foundations should be strong and solid. my mother always said "IF YOUR FEET HURT, YOUR WHOLE BODY HURTS" the foundation holds up the structure if the foundation is weak, well you know the rest anyway a hard shoe in my opinion would be best, it will help form the foot. try asking a pediatric podiatrist they mat have an excellent opinion on shoes for new walkers. good luck and since your child is a girl never let her wear shoes that are too small or too large NO MATTER HOW CUTE OR HOW GOOD THE SALE.. REMEMBER SHOES FORM OUR FEET!
References :
unless they're going outside, your kids don't need shoes at all. the only shoes they should be wearing are just plain old sneakers.

"wedges, inserts, high backs, reinforced heels, special arches, and other features designed to shape ans support the feet make shoes more expensive, but have no proven benefit for the average child.so look instead for comfortable shoes with non-skid soles that will help your baby avoid slipping on smooth floors; sneakers are fine, but remember that their feet will be growing very rapidly...so check the fit monthly during this period."
References :
mom of 2

Some doctors say the white, ankle-high, hard-soled shoes. Others say nothing.. barefeet better.
I personally had my kids walk bare-footed 'til they got the hang of it. Also, there are no-slip socks that are great for little ones.. esp. on hardwood or lino floors!
References :
Probably up to you...

that would be her bare feet. It's much more comfortable, but I would recomend that they have very flexible heels
References :
I've found it best not to put shoes on when they learn to walk. If you need shoes (like outside) Soft ones are the best, they give room and flexibility.
References :
5 children, 1 mom, 3 grandmothers!

your child doesnt need shoes to learn how to walk....barefoot is just fine, but if you do choose shoes, chose one with a light sole.
